Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Varun Dhawan will co-star in the Indian adaptation of the Citadel universe, a global-event series from Prime Video and the Russo Brothers’ AGBO, it was announced on Wednesday by Prime Video. The showrunners and directors of the untitled Indian-based Citadel series are the well-known creative team Raj & DK (Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK). Together with Raj & DK, Sita R. Menon wrote the local instalment. The streaming service also declared that the Mumbai location is where the production is now taking place. The unit would then travel to North India before continuing overseas to places like Serbia and South Africa.
Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas will star in the first series to air in the Citadel world, which is based on the Russo Brothers’ AGBO and will debut in 2023. The series also features David Weil. In addition to Madden and Chopra Jonas, Stanley Tucci will appear in the first season of Citadel. There are also plans for more local-language Citadel productions, including an Italian Original series starring Matilda De Angelis.

Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK will act as executive producers under their production company, D2R Films. The show is made by D2R Films and Amazon Studios, with Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Mike Larocca, Angela Russo-Otstot, Scott Nemes, and David Weil (Hunters) of AGBO in charge of all programmes in the worldwide Citadel universe as well as the Indian Original. Executive producers of the untitled Indian Original, all of the programmes in the global Citadel universe, and Midnight Radio are Josh Applebaum, André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, and Scott Rosenberg.
