In a twist that’s hotter than a freshly brewed cup of tea, popular comedian ‘Huli’ Karthik finds himself in hot water as an FIR has been filed against him for allegedly making derogatory remarks about a specific community during a recent television appearance.
Karthik, who recently shot to fame after winning the third season of Gicchi Giligili, has been enjoying the limelight with several film projects, including the recently released Powder. However, it seems that his comedic flair has taken a wrong turn. Reports suggest that during an episode of Anubandha Awards on Colors Kannada, Karthik used language that was deemed offensive to a particular community, leading to the filing of the complaint.
The comedian's comments, which were seen as inflammatory, have sparked outrage among the affected community members. The use of negative terminology has reportedly caused distress, prompting the filing of an FIR at the Annapurneshwari Nagar Police Station. Alongside Karthik, the scriptwriter of the Anubandha show, the director, and the producer have also been named in the complaint.
Karthik, known for his witty humor, previously commented on the show, saying, "If this belt is in my hand, it’s because of the script." He has expressed gratitude towards the scriptwriter, Sandeep, but now finds himself at the center of a controversy that could overshadow his recent successes.
