Darshan Files Bail Plea in Renuka Swamy Murder Case After 100 Days in Custody

Actor Darshan, accused in the high-profile Renuka Swamy murder case, has finally submitted a bail application after more than 100 days in custody. The application was filed at the Bengaluru Sessions Court as the police submitted the charge sheet over two weeks ago.

Darshan is one of several individuals implicated in the case, with primary suspect Pavitra and others having previously sought bail, though their requests were denied. This marks the first time Darshan has filed for bail since his arrest, raising expectations for a hearing soon.

The police investigation indicates that both Darshan and Pavitra played direct roles in the murder, suggesting that Darshan’s influence contributed to the kidnapping and killing of Renuka Swamy. However, conflicting reports claim Darshan was not present at the scene when the crime occurred, a point his legal team may leverage in their argument for bail.

The hearing for Darshan's bail application is anticipated to take place today at the 57th CCH Court in Bengaluru, presided over by Judge Jaishankar. However, there is a possibility that the hearing could be postponed, delaying any potential bail decision.

Renuka Swamy was reportedly abducted on June 9, taken from Chitradurga to Bengaluru, where she suffered a brutal assault. Her body was later discarded in the countryside. Following the murder, Darshan, along with Pavitra and 17 others, was arrested on June 11 and has remained in custody since.

The outcome of this bail application is eagerly awaited, as it could have significant implications for Darshan's future and the ongoing investigation.
