Punjabi actor Deep Sidhu died in a road accident on Tuesday. He was out on bail. His girlfriend Reena Rai was also present in the same car with him but she survived the road accident. As per police, Reena was on the left side of the car which was not heavily damaged. Also, the airbag on Reena’s side opened immediately that saved her life.
The accident happened on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway bypassing Delhi. Visuals from the road accident site show a white Mahindra Scorpio smashed on the rear of a trailer truck.
Deep Sidhu was travelling from Delhi to Bhatinda in Punjab when the SUV in which he was travelling rammed a trailer truck at 9:30 pm on Tuesday, said the police.
As per the Hospital authorities, he was brought dead. Mr Sidhu was arrested by the Delhi Police last year in connection with a tractor rally by farmers on Republic Day.
It had spiralled into violence after the protesting farmers barged into the Red Fort and attacked policemen. The farmers were protesting against three new farm laws.
But he got bail in April, then he was arrested again just after his release. Deep Sidhu was accused of being a key conspirator of the Red Fort violence.

Deep Sidhu spent his Valentine’s Day with his girlfriend, Reena Rai, hours before his death.
Reena Rai shared a picture with Deep Sidhu on social media as they apparently head out for Valentine’s Day celebration. “Happy Valentine’s Day,” Reena captioned the post.
Last year, Deep Sidhu shared a romantic picture of his and Reena and captioned it, “You stood by when the whole world was against, protected me, held my respect, gave me strength, prayed for my cause and freedom but what truly has touched my heart and soul when you paused your life for me, you being there means a lot for me, your love and support is beyond any description, you are beyond my words and i truly feel blessed to have soul like you in my life, I just wanna say I love you @thisisreenarai”
Who is Reena Rai?
Deep Sidhu and Reena Rai were in a relationship. Reena, a US-based actress, has worked with Deep Sidhu in a 2018 Punjabi film titled Rang Panjab.
Reena and Deep had earlier promoted their movie together in Chandigarh, and other cities. She has worked in several Punjabi films and lives in Mumbai.
She had also won the Miss South Asia crown in 2014.
