TV actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee set several tongues wagging when she accused late actress Divya Bhatnagar’s husband Gagan Gabru of ‘physically and mentally assaulting’ his wife and causing ‘emotional pain to her’. The ‘Saath Nibhaana Saathiya’ actress made serious allegations against Gabru, calling him a ‘criminal’. She shared a video on Instagram to call out Gagan for his ‘abusive treatment’ and said that he assaulted Divya on Karwa Chauth.
Devoleena requests Mumbai Police to take action against Divya’s husband
The ‘Bigg Boss 13’ contestant has urged Mumbai Police and the Maharashtra state government to initiate necessary action Divya Bhatnagar’s husband Gagan Gabru. She said that she made the request of behalf of Divya’s family.
“It’s my humble request to @mumbaipolice on behalf of family of #divya to take strict action against #GaganSethi,the victim’s husband who abused & assaulted her physically & mentally to the core and also he have a criminal mind & a background #SayNoToDomesticViolence,” Devoleena wrote on Twitter.
The popular TV actress posted an audio clip in which Divya can be seen talking about her husband’s abusive behavior. In the audio, Bhatnagar alleged that she suffered a lot during the lockdown. She added that she ran away after her husband threatened to cause harm to her brother and mother.
Divya said that she faced ‘mental torture’ at hands of her husband, who didn’t maintain a ‘physical relationship’ with him despite being married. Devoleena shared the video on Instagram & Twitter and called out people, who claimed to be Divya’s friends but didn’t extend support when she needed it.
Divya Bhatnagar passed away on December 7 due to COVID-19 complications. She was hospitalized in a serious condition last month. Her oxygen levels reportedly dropped to 71.

Gagan Gabru, who reportedly makes reality shows for production houses, slammed Devoleena and refuted her allegations against him. He accused Devoleena of trying to gain publicity from his wife’s death.
