Dharmendra Fraud Case: Bollywood Legend Faces Court Over Garam Dharam Franchise Dispute
Bollywood legend Dharmendra faces court summons over fraud allegations linked to Garam Dharam franchise. Details of the ₹41 lakh dispute revealed.

A Delhi court has summoned veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra and two others in connection with an alleged fraud case related to the Garam Dharam Dhaba franchise. The summons was issued following a complaint filed by a businessman, Sushil Kumar, who accused the parties of luring him into investing in the franchise under false pretenses.
Court Orders Summons on Fraud Complaint
Judicial Magistrate Yashdeep Chahal issued the summons after examining the evidence presented. The complaint alleged that Kumar was persuaded to invest in a franchise of the popular eatery with misleading claims of high profits and support for setting up operations.
The court noted that prima facie evidence suggested that the accused had acted with an intention to mislead the complainant. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for February 20, 2025.
Details of the Allegations
Sushil Kumar’s complaint, filed through his lawyer D.D. Pandey, dates back to April 2018. According to the complaint, Kumar was approached by one of the accused with an offer to open a Garam Dharam Dhaba franchise along NH-24/NH-9. Kumar was assured that existing outlets in Delhi’s Connaught Place and Haryana’s Murthal generated monthly revenues of ₹70–80 lakh.
He was allegedly promised a 7% return on investment and was required to invest ₹41 lakh for the franchise. The complainant stated that the accused also assured complete assistance in setting up the franchise in Uttar Pradesh. Kumar claimed multiple meetings and email exchanges took place to solidify the agreement.
