Dhoom 4 Cast Revealed! Ranbir Kapoor Takes Charge in Aditya Chopra’s Explosive Reboot

Dhoom 4 Cast Revealed

In 2004, Aditya Chopra introduced the Indian audience to a revolutionary action franchise with Dhoom. Directed by Sanjay Gadhvi, the film starred John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan, and Uday Chopra. John Abraham's portrayal of a grey character left an indelible mark on viewers, redefining the "cool" villain. The sequel in 2006, Dhoom 2, saw Hrithik Roshan take the franchise to new heights, followed by Aamir Khan's electrifying performance in Dhoom 3 in 2013. Since then, speculation about Dhoom 4 has kept fans buzzing.

Dhoom 4 Enters Pre-Production

Now, after years of anticipation, Dhoom 4 has officially entered the pre-production phase under the supervision of Aditya Chopra at YRF. A source close to the production reveals, "Aditya Chopra is deeply connected to the Dhoom franchise. With Dhoom 4 (titled Dhoom Reloaded), he aims to reboot the series, aligning it with modern storytelling and cinematic trends. The script is being developed by Aditya Chopra and Vijay Krishna Acharya, with a vision to create a cinematic experience like never before."

The source further confirmed that Ranbir Kapoor has been cast in the lead role for this reboot. "Ranbir has been in talks for a long time. He was intrigued by the initial concept, and now, he is officially on board. Aditya Chopra believes Ranbir is the perfect actor to carry forward the Dhoom legacy."

Ranbir Kapoor Takes the Negative Lead

In an exciting twist, Ranbir Kapoor will play the antagonist, a role that promises to showcase his versatility. Unlike the previous installments, none of the original cast members will return. "This is a reboot in every sense," adds the source. "Two major stars from the younger generation will join as the iconic duo of cop buddies, filling the shoes of the earlier characters."

With the story locked, the casting process for these new roles is underway. "We are aiming to make Dhoom 4 not just the biggest installment of the franchise, but a tentpole film with global standards," the source mentioned.

Ranbir’s Silver Jubilee Project

Fans can expect Dhoom 4 to go on floors by late 2025 or early 2026, once Ranbir wraps up his current projects—Love And War and the Ramayana series. An interesting note is that Dhoom 4 will mark the 25th film in Ranbir Kapoor’s career. "Ranbir is thrilled to make his 25th project a memorable one. After Dhoom 4, he has Animal Park lined up, ensuring a power-packed decade for the actor," the source concludes.

The Future of YRF's Blockbuster Slate

As for the director of Dhoom 4, YRF plans to lock in a filmmaker by mid-2025. The director will join the team for extensive scouting and pre-production, readying the film for its ambitious schedule. YRF has also laid out plans to produce some of India’s biggest films over the next five years, including War 2, Alpha, Mardani 3, Pathaan 2, Tiger vs Pathaan, and of course, Dhoom 4.

A Legacy in Indian Cinema

The Dhoom franchise is beloved by Indian audiences, with each film raising the stakes in action, storytelling, and entertainment. From John Abraham’s iconic portrayal in Dhoom, to Hrithik Roshan and Aamir Khan’s legendary roles in the sequels, the franchise has delivered blockbuster after blockbuster. Ranbir Kapoor’s entry into the Dhoom universe has only heightened expectations for what promises to be a thrilling and unforgettable cinematic experience.

Ranbir is on track to dominate the industry with his stellar lineup, aiming for the #1 spot by the decade's end. With films like Love And War, the Ramayana franchise, Dhoom 4, and Animal Park in the pipeline, the future looks bright for both Ranbir Kapoor and the Dhoom franchise.
