Actor Dilip Kumar passed away Wednesday morning. The legendary actor was 98 years old. Dilip Kumar was popularly known as a tragedy king. He had been admitted to the ICU of the Hinduja Hospital, a non-COVID-19 facility, since Tuesday.
Dilip Kumar had been in and out of hospitals in the last month. Though his family was hoping for a revival of his health.
He had been witnessing age-related ailments for the last few days. Dilip Kumar’s wife Saira Banu had been with him throughout this tough time.
Earlier Banu had assured fans of his stable condition. He was diagnosed with bilateral pleural effusion. There was a build-up of excess fluid between the layers of the pleura outside the lungs. The actor underwent a successful pleural aspiration procedure. Later he was discharged.
Moreover, the tragedy king had given the film industry masterpieces of his work. His films like Devdas (1955), Naya Daur (1957), Mughal-e-Azam (1960), Ganga Jamuna (1961), Kranti (1981), and Karma (1986) were a hit.
From the film industry to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the whole country is saddened by the demise of Dilip Kumar.
