Diljit Dosanjh Concert: Two Arrested for Selling Tickets at Shocking Prices

Internationally renowned singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh is set to perform in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on December 8 as part of his highly anticipated Dil-Luminati Tour. While fans eagerly await the event, it has become entangled in controversies involving ticket scams and local protests, raising concerns about its smooth execution.

Ticket Reselling Scam Uncovered

In a recent crackdown, Indore police arrested two individuals involved in the illegal resale of tickets for Diljit’s concert. The accused had purchased tickets online and were reselling them at exorbitant prices, charging as much as Rs 10,000 for tickets originally priced between Rs 4,000 and Rs 5,000.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Crime Branch Rajesh Tripathi confirmed the arrests and shared details of the operation. “Crime Branch is continuously monitoring the black marketing of tickets for Diljit Dosanjh’s concert. We arrested two individuals and recovered five tickets that they were attempting to sell at double the price,” he told ANI.

The incident has highlighted a broader issue of ticket availability. Many fans reported difficulties obtaining tickets from official platforms, only to find them being sold on third-party websites at inflated rates.

Adding to the turmoil, the Bajrang Dal staged protests against the event, citing cultural and moral concerns. Yash Bachani, a member of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), voiced opposition to the alleged open sale of liquor and serving of non-vegetarian food at the concert. “We oppose open liquor consumption and serving of meat, which we believe harm the cultural values of the city. We are also alert to any potential incidents of ‘Love Jihad’ and women’s safety concerns,” Bachani stated.

The group has threatened to take to the streets if their demands are not addressed, raising tensions around the event.

Police Assure Strict Measures

In response to the rising concerns, Indore police have stepped up their efforts to ensure public safety and order during the concert. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone 2, Amrendra Singh, assured the public that no open consumption of alcohol would be permitted at the venue. “We are taking the issues of law and order, women’s security, and potential drug abuse very seriously. Necessary actions are being taken to prevent any disruption,” he told reporters.
