Taking to Instagram, Diljit shared the viral video along with a powerful caption: “A woman who knows her worth doesn’t need validation—she shines bright enough to light her own way. DIL-LUMINATI TOUR Year 24.”

In the video, Diljit addressed his fans, saying, “It’s okay to cry. Music is an emotion. There’s smile, dance, bhangra, giddha, and even crying in it. I have cried several times listening to music. Only those with emotions can cry.”

Switching to Punjabi, he added, “Don’t insult her. Women are independent. They work, earn, and can enjoy themselves just as much as men.”

His words resonated with the audience, drawing loud cheers as he further stated, “You are insulting the daughters of the nation if you judge them for expressing their emotions.”

While Diljit’s tour is drawing attention for all the right reasons, it also sparked controversy ahead of his Hyderabad concert. On November 7, the Telangana government issued a notice to the singer, restricting his performance of songs containing themes of alcohol, drugs, or violence.

The notice, issued by the District Welfare Officer of Rangareddy District’s Department of Welfare of Women and Children, Disabled & Senior Citizens, followed a complaint from Chandigarh-based professor Panditrao Dharenavar. The professor submitted a video clip from Diljit’s October 26–27 performance at Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, claiming that some of his songs promoted such themes.

The government also prohibited children from being present on stage during his performance in Hyderabad.
