Diljit Dosanjh’s Emotional Tribute to His Mother at Delhi Concert: Why He Says ‘Punjabi aa gaye oye’!

Recently, he performed for the second time in Delhi at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, where nearly 35,000 fans gathered to experience his electrifying two-hour show. During his performance, Diljit took a heartfelt moment to pay tribute to his mother, explaining why Punjabi has such a special place in his life. He shared with the crowd, “When I was born, my mother spoke in Punjabi. I learned Punjabi first. Our country has many beautiful languages, and I respect them all, whether it’s Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Telugu, or Hindi. But because my mother speaks Punjabi, so I too speak Punjabi. That’s why I say, ‘Punjabi aa gaye oye!’”
He later shared this touching moment on Instagram, where he expressed his deep connection to the Punjabi language, which he says is a lasting bond to his mother.

In previous interviews, he has mentioned his commitment to keeping his family out of the public eye to protect their privacy and safety.
Diljit has also spoken about his childhood, sharing that his relationship with his parents was impacted when they sent him to live with his maternal uncle at the age of 11. He recalls, “I was eleven when I left my home and moved to Ludhiana to live with my mamaji. My parents agreed without even asking me.”

Diljit’s Dil-Luminati tour will now take him to nine more cities, including Jaipur, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Pune, and Kolkata, with the grand finale in Guwahati on December 29.
