From Poonam Dhillon to Rimi Sen, Bollywood actresses who took part in Bigg Boss

Published Date:

Salman Khan’s ‘Bigg Boss’ is considered as the biggest reality show on Indian television. The popular yet controversial show enjoys a significant fan following across different age groups. ‘Bigg Boss’ manages to keep the viewers invested with its drama-packed episodes. The show provides ‘much-need visibility’ to the celebrities, who get locked inside the ‘BB 14’ house. Although, the makers have been roping only TV celebs since the last few years, several Bollywood actresses have also participated in the show. So, tighten up you seat belts as we will take you on a roller coaster ride and refresh your memory. Here’s the list of Bollywood actresses who participated in ‘Bigg Boss’.

Poonam Dhillon

Veteran Bollywood actress Poonam Dhillon was part of ‘Bigg Boss’ season three, which was hosted by megastar Amitabh Bachchan. Poonam emerged as the second runner-up of the show and managed to win hearts with her calm and composed behavior. After playing several memorable roles on the silver screen, the ‘Noorie’ actress decided to shift her focus on reality shows with ‘Bigg Boss 3’.

Shamita Shetty

Shamita Shetty grabbed several eyeballs during her stint in ‘Bigg Boss 3. She had to walk out of the show to attend her sister Shilpa Shetty’s wedding. Considering her popularity, the ‘Mohabbbatein’ actress was considered as one of the probable winners when the show was launched.

Tanishaa Mukerji

Kajol’s younger sister Tanisha Mukerji, who is still known for her role in ‘Neal N Nikki’ opposite Uday Chopra, participated in ‘Bigg Boss 7’. Her growing closeness with co-contestant Armaan Kohli inside the ‘BB 7’ and rivalry with Gauahar Khan and Kushal became the talk of the town. Tanisha finished as the first runner-up of the show, losing to Gauahar, who was considered her arch rival.

Minissha Laba

Minissha, who starred in several films like ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’, ‘Well Done Abba’ and ‘Bheja Fry 2’, took part in ‘Bigg Boss 8’. She couldn’t survive in the game for long and was eliminated in the sixth week.

Rimi Sen

The Bengali beauty is one of the most popular Bollywood celebrities, who dared to get locked inside the ‘Bigg Boss’ house. The ‘Dhoom’ actress was reportedly paid a whopping amount to be part of ‘Bigg Boss 9’. She received flak from the fans on social media for not contributing the show and refusing to participate in tasks. The hype surrounding her fizzled out soon and even host Salman Khan expressed his disappointment over her lack of activeness. Rimi was eliminated from the show after staying in the ‘BB 9’ house for 51 long days.

The likes of Sherlyn Chopra, Aditi Govitrikar, Sonali Raut, Gauahar Khan, who have done few films, were also part of ‘Bigg Boss’.
