GOAT Box Office Update: Thalapathy Vijay’s Film Hits Rs 16 Crore in Worldwide Advance Sales!
The action-packed film The Greatest of All Time, also known as GOAT, is creating a lot of buzz as it gears up for its release. This film, starring Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay, is being promoted as his second-last film before he dives into politics. Following his massive success with Leo, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the stakes are high for GOAT to perform exceptionally well.
Impressive Advance Ticket Sales
According to Sacnilk, the movie has already sold tickets worth Rs 11 crore for its opening day, with blocked seats pushing this number to over Rs 14.6 crore. In Tamil-speaking regions alone, tickets have sold for Rs 11.2 crore, with an average ticket price of Rs 208. The Telugu regions have contributed Rs 7 lakh, and IMAX screenings have added Rs 2 lakh to the total. With over 5.4 lakh tickets sold, GOAT is set for a strong opening.
International Success and Regional Breakdown
In the US, GOAT has generated more than Rs 5.5 crore in ticket sales, surpassing the advance records of Vijay’s previous film, Beast. Regionally, the film has sold Rs 6 lakh worth of tickets in Tamil Nadu, Rs 1.3 crore in Kerala, and Rs 3.4 crore in Karnataka. However, its draw in North India remains limited, with Maharashtra and Delhi-NCR contributing only Rs 4 lakh and less than Rs 2 lakh, respectively.
Star-Studded Cast and Production Details
Directed by Venkat Prabhu, GOAT features an impressive cast including Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, and Ajmal Ameer. The film is rumored to have cameos from Trisha and Sivakarthikeyan. With a budget exceeding Rs 300 crore, the movie is produced by Archana Kalpathi under the AGS Entertainment banner. It will hit theaters on September 5, featuring original music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography by Siddhartha Nuni.
