GOAT’ Ticket Prices Skyrocket in Bengaluru; Chennai Sees Lower Rates for Vijay's Latest Film

Bengaluru, Sept. 4 — The highly anticipated film "The Greatest Of All Time" (GOAT), starring Vijay, Prabhu Deva, Prashanth, and Sneha, is set to release globally today. While the movie is generating excitement among fans, Bengaluru is witnessing sky-high ticket prices and an overwhelming number of screenings compared to Chennai, where ticket prices remain significantly lower.

In Bengaluru, over 1,000 screenings of "GOAT" are scheduled, with more than 20 showings at multiplexes alone. The early morning slots are particularly notable, with shows starting as early as 4 a.m. In contrast, Chennai has secured approximately 750 screenings, with the earliest shows commencing only after 9 a.m.

The surge in ticket prices in Bengaluru has drawn attention. At multiplexes, ticket prices have reached up to ₹2,000, while single-screen theaters are charging between ₹250 and ₹1,000. This pricing is markedly higher than in Chennai, where the maximum ticket price is around ₹190. The disparity has led to accusations of price gouging in Bengaluru, with local audiences expressing their frustration.

Despite the steep ticket prices, most screenings of "GOAT" in Bengaluru are fully booked. The film, Vijay's 68th project, is directed by Venkatesh Prabhu and features a high-budget production estimated between ₹350 to ₹400 crore. Vijay will appear in dual roles, with the film already generating buzz for its action-packed sequences.

In addition to Vijay, the cast includes Prabhu Deva, Prashanth, Ajmal Azeez, Mohan, Jayaram, Sneha, Laila, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Vaibhav, Yogi Babu, Parvati Nair, and Ajay Raj. The film's music is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

As "GOAT" makes its debut, the film's exceptional ticket sales and inflated prices in Bengaluru reflect the massive fan following and anticipated success of Vijay's latest cinematic venture.
