During filming Project K in Hyderabad, actor Amitabh Bachchan suffered a muscle tear in his right rib cage. The 80-year-old actor explained in a blog post that he was hurt during filming an action scene when his rib cartilage “popped” on the set. He sought medical attention in Hyderabad and is currently recovering at Jalsa, his Mumbai home. Amitabh Bachchan said that he is “mobile a little for necessary chores” but mainly is sleeping. He acknowledged the discomfort in his Tumbler blog post, writing, “Yeah, unpleasant. Regarding mobility and breathing, they say it will take some weeks before some normalisation will occur.” He urged followers not to congregate at Jalsa as usual towards the end of the post, which was published on Sunday. Big B has had a long-standing Sunday custom of hosting a meet and greet with supporters in front of his house.
Amitabh Bachchan wrote in his post: “My right rib cage muscle tore during an action scene while I was filming in Hyderabad for Project K. I had to cancel the shoot, see a doctor, get a CT scan at the AIG Hospital in Hyderabad, and then I was flown back home. Rest has been advised as well as strapping. Painful, indeed. It will take a few weeks, so they say, before movement and breathing return to normal. There are additional medications for discomfort.”
“So all work that was to be done has been suspended, cancelled, dropped, and postponed for the time being until healing occurs,” Amitabh Bachchan explained. “I rest at Jalsa and am mobile a bit for all the essential activities, but yes, in rest and generally lying around.”
“It will be difficult, if not impossible, for me to meet the well-wishers at Jalsa Gate this evening. So please do not come, and please inform those who intend to come as much as possible. All else is fine, “Big B’s post came to an end.
