Indian Idol 12 has found itself amid yet another controversy. The show’s host Aditya Narayan got himself in trouble for a comment he made on Alibaug.
Narayan, in an episode of the show, asked contestant Sawai Bhatt if he had come from Alibaug. Maharashta Navnirman Sena’s Chitrapat Sena chief, Ameya Khopkar, accused the creators of Indian idol 12 of portraying Alibaug in poor light and demanded an apology.
Aditya Narayan took to social media to apologise to the citizens of Alibaug for his ‘distasteful’ comment. He wrote, “With a humble heart and folded hands I want to apologise to the people of Alibaug and everyone who has been hurt by my sentence on a recent episode of Indian Idol that I’m currently hosting. The intention was never to hurt anyone. I have immense love and respect for Alibaug. My own sentiments are connected with the place, it’s people and this soil.”
Indian Idol 12 recently also involved got in a controversy with Kishore Kumar’s son Amit Kumar. He did not enjoy the tribute episode to his father but claimed he was asked to praise the contestants nonetheless. Indian Idol 1 winner Abhieet Sawant also blamed the show for milking the tragic stories of contestants for TRP.
