Indian Ocean members Rahul Ram and Amit Kilam have responded to a police complaint filed by the band's co-founder, Susmit Sen. The complaint, filed on August 16 in Delhi, accuses Rahul and Amit of criminal conspiracy, breach of trust, cheating, and financial irregularities. Susmit, along with Sunita Chakravarty, the wife of deceased co-founder Ashim Chakravarty, also named Kandisa Music Productions Pvt Ltd in the complaint.

Response from Rahul Ram and Amit Kilam

Rahul and Amit issued an official statement saying they learned about the police complaint through the media. They expressed surprise and mentioned that they had not yet seen a copy of the complaint. They also highlighted that a legal dispute is already pending before the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) involving the shareholders for over a year.

The statement read, "We are saddened to learn from the media that a police complaint has been filed against us by Mr. Susmit Sen and Ms. Sunita Chakravorty. We have not seen a copy of the complaint as yet and thus cannot address it on its merits. There is a pending matter in the NCLT, and everything therein is sub-judice."

Ongoing Legal Dispute

Rahul and Amit found it surprising that a police complaint had been filed, considering that the issue is already under the NCLT’s review. They described the complaint as an attempt to pressure them into accepting illegal demands and stated they would fully cooperate with the police investigation. The duo remains confident in the legality of their actions and views the complaints as frivolous.

This ongoing dispute between former band members adds another chapter to the Indian Ocean band's storied history.
