Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez distributed meals to the underprivileged in Mumbai on Thursday, May 6, 2021. Her foundation YOLO (You Only Live Once) partnered with an NGO called Mumbai Roti Bank for this meal distribution drive.
Sharing photos of the drive on Instagram, Fernandez quoted Mother Teresa. She wrote, “Mother Teresa once said, “Peace begins when the hungry are fed.”
She went on to say, “I was truly humbled and inspired to visit Mumbai @rotibankfdn today, which is run by former Mumbai police commissioner Mr. D Sivanandan. Roti Bank has prepared and distributed meals to millions of hungry people till date, even during the pandemic. They are the perfect example of what #kindnessbrigade aspires to do and I am honored to be of help to them during these times.”

Jacqueline has recently launched her foundation YOLO with an aim to create and share stories of kindness amid the pandemic. She has announced that she through her foundation will be tying up with various NGOs and organisations to help and serve people in need. This month, she wishes to provide one lakh meals through her collaboration with Roti Bank.
Previously, Jacqueline had extended her help to people in rebuilding their houses as part of post-flood relief and had also worked towards the nourishment of children during Covid-19.
Furthermore, she will be distributing masks and sanitisers to the Mumbai Police Force, the frontline workers who have been serving the nation tirelessly during COVID-19.
