Neeraj Gheyvan's film 'Homebound', starring Ishaan Khattar, Vishal Jethwa and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles, was screened at the Cannes Film Festival this year. In an interview, Janhvi told Sucharita Tyagi that her father Boney Kapoor and sister Khushi Kapoor had a very emotional reaction after watching the film.
Janhvi Kapoor said everyone started crying after watching 'Homebound'
Janhvi told that after the premiere of the film, she deliberately kept away from her family because she knew that if she went to them, she would start crying. She said, “I met everyone, but when I saw Papa, he was crying a lot. I have never seen him like this before. My sister's eyes had also turned red. I thought if I went to him, I would start crying again. Papa was very impressed with the film. I have never seen him getting so emotional with any film.”
She told that not only her family, but everyone present in the theatre was crying by the time the film ended. She said, “These were not light sobs, people were really crying profusely. I felt as if everyone present in that theatre had started thinking about their lives. I had seen a slightly different version of the film before this and I had cried a lot at that time too. Then Neeraj sir had also asked me- why are you crying so much? So I had decided that I will not cry this time. But first Vishal started crying and then as soon as a special scene came in the film, I also broke down.”
