Considered to be world’s largest COVID-19 vaccination drive, this initiative from central government is being hailed by film fraternity as well.
Amitabh Bachchan, who recovered from the virus a few months ago, has also recorded a new public service announcement asking fellow citizens to cooperate in the vaccination drive.
Quoting a tweet featuring AIIMS director Dr Randeep Guleria receiving the CIVID-19 vaccine shot Kangana Ranaut wrote, “Wonderful!! Can’t wait.”
The Lunchbox actress Nimrat Kaur also extended her warm wishes to the doctors and hoped that the vaccination drive would bring the “much-awaited” end to the pandemi.
She wrote, “Wishing the very best of luck to all the medics initiating the world’s #LargestVaccineDrive on this momentous day. May this be a smooth, successful beginning of the much awaited end. God speed!”
Sharing a tweet by UNICEF India, Priyanka cheered the nation for starting the process of vaccination. She wrote on Twitter, “Bravo India! Congratulations to Indian authorities, medical & health teams for starting off the massive Covid vaccination drive. Forever grateful to our frontline heroes who have been risking their lives this past year to save others.”
Vivek Oberoi shared the video of PM Modi kickstarting the vaccination drive and tweeted, “Corona pe waar, India hai taiyaar! Mass vaccination against COVID-19 begins today. Many many congratulations to our doctors, scientists, healthcare workers and government of India. #LargestVaccineDrive #CureCorona #CoronaFreeIndia.”
Esha Deol, Paresh Rawal, Kunal Kapoor and Ronnie Screwvala also welcomed the vaccination drive.
Former actor and Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani called the day historic as the country “embarked” on the journey of vaccination.
She tweeted, “Today marks an important milestone in our fight against Covid-19 as PM @narendramodi Ji launches pan India rollout of vaccine. With a digital platform to give real-time information & a helpline to address queries, India embarks on #LargestVaccineDrive powered by Jan Bhagidari.”
