New Delhi: Kannada film star Puneeth Rajkumar passed away after suffering cardiac arrest on October 29. He was 46 years old. As per the reports, today the actor was taken to Vikram hospital in Bengaluru at 11.30 AM. Puneeth was in a serious condition and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). A group of doctors was constantly monitoring him.
According to the official statement, The Vikram Hospital said, “Puneet Rajkumar aged 46 years was brought to the emergency department, Vikram Hospital with history of chest pain at 11:40 am. He was non responsive and was in Cardiac Asystole and Advanced cardiac resuscitation has been initiated.”
Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj S Bommai was present at the hospital to check on the actor. According to sources, Puneeth’s elder brother and actor Shiva Rajkumar and Yash were also there at the premises.

Sathish, the personal manager of Puneeth and other sources related to the actor confirmed the news of his demise.
Puneeth’s death has taken the entire South Indian film industry by shock. The actor was recently seen promoting Shivarajkumar’s ‘Bajrangi 2’. The actor had even tweeted wishing the film luck on Friday morning.
He was last seen in Santhosh Ananddram-directed film ‘Yuvarathnaa’. He had recently wrapped shooting for Chethan Kumar’s ‘James’, opposite Priya Anand. He was scheduled to start shooting for Pawan Kumar-directed ‘Dvitva’ from November 1.
Puneeth had been working in the south film industry for two decades as an actor and was fondly called Appu and Power Star. He worked in many successful films and had a huge fan following in the Kannada film industry.
