Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan is facing a police complaint by an agitated Christian group over the title of her book ‘Pregnancy Bible’. The religious group filed the complaint against Kareena and two other in Beet, Maharashtra on Wednesday.
The group complains that the books title is insensitive and hurt religious sentiments of the community. Ashish Shinde, President of the Alpha Omega Christian Mahasangh filed this complaint at the Shivaji Nagar Police Station in Beed. He claims the use of the word ‘Bible’ in the book authored by Kareena Kapoor and Aditi Shah Bhimjani and published by Juggernaut Books hurts religious sentiments.
Kareena had launched her book on July 9, 2021. The actress, who recently gave birth to her second son, Jeh in February, called the book her third child. The book is said to chronicle her journey through 2 pregnancies, motherhood and the like.
Shinde has sought registration of a case under IPC section 295-A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) against the actress and the two others.

Shivaji Nagar Police Station in-charge Inspector Sainath Thombre told PTI, “We have received the complaint but no case can be registered here as the incident has not happened here (in Beed). I have advised him to file a complaint in Mumbai.”
