Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan, now a megastar with a net worth in crores, recently shared a glimpse into his early struggles. In the latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 16, Amitabh revealed that his first paycheck was just ₹400. This revelation came during a conversation with MPSC aspirant Krishna Selukar.

A Glimpse into Amitabh’s Early Struggles

During the episode, Amitabh reminisced about his early career days when he was fresh out of college and struggling to make ends meet. He spoke about his time in Kolkata, where he managed to find a job with a salary of ₹400 per month. Despite the low pay, Amitabh found himself living with eight people in a single room, much like Krishna's situation in Pune.

Amitabh shared, “I’m not surprised by the eight people staying in a room. When I graduated and went job-hunting, I found myself in Kolkata with a ₹400 monthly salary. There too, I lived with eight others in a small room.”

The Joys of Simplicity

Despite the hardships, Amitabh enjoyed those early days. He described the experience with a sense of nostalgia: “It was a lot of fun. We had only two beds for eight people, so we often slept on the floor. We had little arguments about who would sleep on the bed or the floor.”

A Major Career Turnaround

Amitabh Bachchan, who was at a career low point, agreed to host the first season of Kaun Banega Crorepati in 2000. The show, an adaptation of the British series Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, became a significant success and marked a major turnaround in his career.

Looking ahead, Amitabh will appear in Ribhudas Gupta's courtroom drama Section 84 and make his Tamil debut with Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel, alongside Rajinikanth.

Amitabh’s journey from those modest beginnings to becoming a celebrated figure in Indian cinema serves as an inspiring testament to perseverance and success.
