BTS Suga Moves Out of His $7.1M Villa: Know The Real Story Behind the Departure
Discover why BTS’ Suga left his $7.1M luxury villa funded by Big Hit Music. Uncover the untold story of his move and what led to this significant change in his life.
The prestigious villa Parc Hannam, situated in Seoul’s exclusive UN Village, is making headlines as it is expected to be purchased by Choi Jin Man, founder of Cricket Group. This luxurious residence, once home to BTS member Suga, holds a story that resonates with both fans and the luxury property market.
Suga’s Journey at Parc Hannam
Suga, a globally renowned artist and member of BTS, had been residing in Parc Hannam under a deposit arrangement paid by Big Hit Music. His stay in this high-end residence began in November 2021 and extended until May 2023. The rental deposit for Parc Hannam was reported at 9.5 billion won (approximately $7.1 million USD), underscoring its status as a top-tier property.
Suga’s move to Parc Hannam followed his purchase of the third floor of Hannam Riverhill, another luxury villa in the same neighborhood, back in November 2018. The purchase, valued at 3.4 billion won, marked Suga’s entry into Seoul’s elite residential circle. However, reported conflicts with residents prompted him to relocate to Parc Hannam, and later to Nine One Hannam, another premium housing complex.
Amid his residency changes, Suga faced a deeply personal and public incident in August 2023. Late at night on August 6, he was found on an electric scooter in Hannam-dong, intoxicated and unwell. A police officer on duty assisted him, and a subsequent breathalyzer test revealed a blood alcohol content of 0.227%, far exceeding South Korea’s legal limits.

The consequences were significant. On September 27, Judge Lee Yoo Seop of the 7th Summary Division of the Seoul Western District Court fined Suga 15 million won (approximately $11,250 USD) for drunk driving, a violation of the Road Traffic Act. The event served as a sobering moment for Suga, who has since focused on his career and personal growth.
Parc Hannam is more than just a residence—it’s a symbol of affluence and exclusivity. Located in the heart of UN Village, the property offers unparalleled privacy and stunning views of the Han River. Its allure has made it a sought-after address among South Korea’s elite, including celebrities and business magnates.
Choi Jin Man’s anticipated purchase of the villa highlights its enduring appeal. As the founder of Cricket Group, Choi’s acquisition reflects the intersection of luxury living and influential figures shaping South Korea’s cultural and economic landscape.
Human Connection Behind the Headlines
Suga’s time at Parc Hannam was marked by both success and challenges. His ability to navigate personal and professional hurdles resonates with fans worldwide, offering a reminder that even global stars face moments of vulnerability. As Suga moves forward, his journey serves as an inspiration, showing resilience and a commitment to growth.
Parc Hannam’s upcoming sale not only marks a transition for the property but also echoes the evolving narratives of those who have called it home.
