"In May of last year, during the first year of my joyful newlywed life, I went to the hospital for a routine prenatal check-up. That’s when I received the shocking news: I had cervical cancer."

The diagnosis came as a complete surprise to ChoA, who considered herself young and healthy. She questioned the results and sought second opinions. "I even questioned if it was a misdiagnosis, so I went to five of the top university hospitals in the country, hoping for different results," she admitted.

The reality of her situation set in as she underwent extensive medical testing. "For the first time in my life, I had to go through tests like MRI and PET CT scans," ChoA shared. The diagnosis was Stage 1 cervical cancer with a 3 cm tumor. Doctors informed her that preserving her fertility would be difficult, a revelation that left her devastated. "It felt like my world fell apart hearing that. I collapsed in tears, and it was one of the hardest moments of my life," she recalled.

Despite the overwhelming despair, ChoA and her husband found strength in each other. "Even through the despair, my husband and I held hands, prayed, and refused to give up," she said.

Determined to fight the cancer and preserve her dream of becoming a mother, ChoA took proactive steps. "I did everything I could to shrink the tumor. I studied, exercised daily, and completely overhauled my diet," she explained. Her efforts paid off; by the time of her surgery, the tumor had reduced in size more than expected. "Miraculously, I was able to preserve my fertility," she joyfully announced.

ChoA recently passed her fourth follow-up exam and is preparing for another surgery to protect her fertility. "Since my cervix was removed, this procedure will involve tying my uterine body in advance," she detailed. Acknowledging the challenges ahead, she remains optimistic. "There are still many hurdles when it comes to pregnancy and childbirth, but I’m determined to overcome them."
