NewJeans vs. ADOR: Girl Group Battles Court Over Freedom to Go Solo!
NewJeans files an appeal after court sides with ADOR, blocking solo promos. Can the K-pop stars reclaim independence? Get the latest update here!

The legal dispute between NewJeans and their agency ADOR continues to grow, as the girl group has now officially filed an appeal against the court’s earlier decision to block their independent promotions.
On April 16, law firm Shin & Kim LLC, which represents NewJeans members Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein, released an official statement confirming that they are challenging the ruling. The court had earlier upheld a provisional injunction that stops the members from signing advertising contracts or conducting promotions without ADOR’s involvement.
The statement read, “The court has decided to uphold the original provisional injunction, and we have immediately filed an appeal against the decision. We will continue to participate diligently in the legal proceedings and do our best to ensure the facts are clearly established.”
What Led to This Appeal?
The court’s original ruling, made on March 21, sided fully with ADOR, recognizing their authority as NewJeans’ managing agency. This decision also prohibited NewJeans from independent activities, including promotions and advertising deals not approved by ADOR.
Despite the appeal, the court’s latest response maintains the ban on the group’s independent projects.

What This Means for NewJeans’ Future
While this legal battle unfolds, NewJeans fans are left waiting to see how the situation will affect the group's upcoming promotions. As of now, the K-pop girl group remains under the management of ADOR, and any solo or group activity outside of the agency’s approval is not allowed.
This appeal marks a major moment in the ongoing K-pop legal landscape, with fans and industry experts keeping a close eye on the next steps.
