UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated an intersection in Ayodhya named after the late singer Lata Mangeshkar.
Today marks her 93rd birth anniversary. CM Adityanath and Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy were present at the inauguration ceremony of Lata Mangeshkar Chauraha.
The Lata Mangeshkar intersection at the banks of the Saryu river has been developed at an estimated cost of Rs 7.9 crore.
The 40-ft-long and 12-metre-high veena weighing 14 tonnes was installed at the intersection.
PM Modi also paid a touching tribute to the late legendary singer Lata Didi.
This intersection will be a great tourist attraction as well as a spot to visit by music lovers. It is the first place in India where such a giant veena has been installed
Moreover, the veena has been made by Padma Shri awardee Ram Sutar. It took two months to make it. Lata Mangeshkar died in February earlier this year.
