Mahabharat’s Pravin Kumar Sobti, widely known for playing the role of Bheem in BR Chopra’s Mahabharat, passed away at the age of 75.
The actor died after suffering a heart attack. He died at home in Delhi. Pravin aka Bheem is also popular for starring in films like Shehenshah and Dharmendra’s Loha.
But it was Bheem’s role which gave him more recognition. Besides, he had worked in other films as well including Aaj Ka Arjun, Ajooba, and Ghayal, among others.
Before trying his luck in acting, Praveen aka Bheem was a hammer and discus throw athlete. It is noteworthy that he was a four-time Asian Games medallist; he also represented India in 1968 Mexico and 1972 Munich Olympics.
Not only this, he was honored with Arjuna award. Furthermore, he has worked as the Deputy Commandant in the Border Security Force (BSF) as well.
Pravin aka Mahabharat’s Bheem had also contested the Delhi Assembly elections on Aam Aadmi Party ticket in 2013.
What helped him most in acting on TV was his 6-foot-8-inch height and broad frame Looks. Pravin was always the choice for that villain’s role because of his imposing Looks.
