The Korean drama release calendar is heating up in June, just in time for the warmer weather, with several heavy hitters on the docket.
In June, a popular show’s sequel, a Korean remake of another global hit, a fantasy period drama, and several legal shows will premiere, and a major Chinese star will also appear on Korean screens.
Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area
The hugely successful Spanish series Money Heist has been given a Korean makeover, with the first six episodes premiering on Netflix this month.
Yumi’s Cells 2
Yumi’s colourful search for love continues in season two of Yumi’s Cells, with Kim Go-eun reprising her role as Kim Yumi.
Eve
Seo Yea-first ji’s show since It’s OK to Not Be OK, which was originally scheduled for late May, will now kick off the June drama calendar. Seo plays Lee La-el, a woman whose family is destroyed by a powerful individual in Eve.
Alchemy of Souls
The fantasy drama Alchemy of Souls, set in the fictional country of Daeho, will provide June’s period drama fix.
Insider
Kang Ha-neul, the Camellia Blooms star, returns as the lead in the thriller Insider. He portrays Kim Yo-han, a young judicial apprentice who is imprisoned after participating in a sensitive undercover investigation. Despite his predicament, he maintains his poker face and meticulous planning behind bars.
