Nayanthara's Darkest Chapter: MMS Leak Scandal Surfaces in the Wake of Bollywood Stardom with Shah Rukh Khan

MUMBAI – As actress Nayanthara basks in the glory of her Bollywood debut alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Jawan, a dark chapter from her past continues to follow her. Once dubbed the "Lady Superstar" of South Indian cinema, Nayanthara faced a harrowing personal and professional ordeal when an MMS of her with Tamil actor Simbu was leaked online, sparking widespread controversy.

A Star in Turmoil

Nayanthara, today an accomplished actress and mother of twins, went through her own share of struggles before achieving stardom. The one time she was also part of the Tamil film shoot Vallavan in 2014, she was said to be romantically linked with co-star Simbu. What seemed like a smooth sailing for the pair soon took a turn into a nightmare as an intimate MMS clip featuring them started circulating on social media.
The controversy deepened when rumors circulated that someone close to Simbu was responsible for the leak. While Nayanthara chose to remain silent publicly, she reportedly hinted at workplace malice, stating, "Some individuals I’ve worked with are behind this.

Simbu broke his silence in an interview admitting that the video clip originated from a camera which the duo had bought during a holiday in Dubai. According to him, they had taken personal photographs to test the camera and that was leaked. He does admit that the reputation of Nayanthara has been grossly damaged.

At the time of the scandal, Nayanthara was getting ready for the release of two large-budget films, Kuselan and Satyam. The filmdom assumed it to be a premeditated attack on her image with the effect of affecting the all-important box office collections of the movies. She filed a police complaint against the Tamil channel with Chennai Police, and the damage had already taken its share from her personal and professional life.
Moving On

It marked the end to Nayanthara's relations with Simbu, and she went on to rebuild her career, reclaiming the title she had earned so long ago of South India's "Lady Superstar". Now married to filmmaker Vignesh Shivan, Nayanthara has finally found stability on both personal and professional fronts. Jawan has just topped off her successful debut in Bollywood.
