Neha Kakkar has recently announced on the sets of Indian Idol 12 that she will be donating Rs 5 lakh to Santosh Anand. The Bollywood lyricist, who is now out of work, wrote the popular song Ek Pyaar Ka Nagma Hai from the film Shor, starring Manoj Kumar, Jaya Bachchan and Nanda.
Neha has also urged others to come forward and provide monetary aid to Santosh Anand.
Neha Kakkar donates Rs 5 lakh to Santosh Anand
On the upcoming episode Indian Idol 12, audience will see Pyarelal from the popular musical duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal. The music composer will grace the show with his wife. Lyricist Santosh Anand will also join the show. He has worked with Pyarelal in many Bollywood movies.
Interestingly, on the sets of Indian Idol 12, Santosh addressed his financial conditions and how he is struggling to make money like he once used to. Neha Kakkar could not control her emotions as she came to know about Santosh Anand’s struggles. Neha decided to provide financial help of Rs 5 lakh to the Bollywood lyricist. The popular singer also shared that she wanted to help the lyricist in any possible manner because he has been a pivotal part of Bollywood.
Neha also urged the entire Bollywood industry to provide work to Santosh Anand so that his financial condition could be made better. Indian Idol 12 judge Neha Kakkar decied to give Rs 5 lakh as a small gesture. On the show, judge Vishal Dadlani also requested Santosh to share some of his songs. The judge also assured that he will be releasing those songs. Neha sang Ek Pyaar Ka Nagma Hai and she was joined by Santosh for few lines.
Who is Santosh Anand?
One of the most popular Bollywood lyricists, Santosh Anand marked his Bollywood debut with Manoj Kumar-starrer Purab Aur Paschim in 1970. Kalyanji-Anandji composed the music of the film. Later, in 1972, Santosh Anand wrote Ek Pyar Ka Nagma Hai, which was a massive hit. Later, he wrote lyrics for Roti Kapda Aur Makaan (1974), which also had music composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal. He has provided lyrics fro films like Love 86, prem Rog and Kranti.
