One Piece Fans Left Adrift: Egghead Arc Takes Long Break Until 2025, Special Fish-Man Island Saga Announced!

Fans of the beloved anime One Piece were left shocked after an announcement that the show’s latest arc, "Egghead," will be going on a long hiatus. The news was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by the official One Piece account, informing fans that new episodes will not resume until April 2025.

The break, which begins on October 26, 2024, will be used by the creative team to improve the show’s overall quality. In the meantime, viewers will be treated to a special edition of the "Fish-Man Island" saga, which will begin airing on October 27 under the title One Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga.

This hiatus is part of a larger effort by the show's creators, led by Eiichiro Oda’s staff, to elevate the animation and storytelling. The break is expected to last until March 30, 2025, and the new episodes will return just in time for the 25th anniversary of the anime, which debuted on October 20, 1999.

While some fans expressed disappointment over the long wait, others appreciated the team's decision to focus on quality improvement. One fan wrote, "Thanks for the heads-up! Looking forward to new episodes in April 2025. Excited to see the Straw Hats return to Fish-Man Island in the meantime!"

Another fan said, "The team deserves a break. It’s sad, but at the end of the day, we were getting great content. When it returns, they’ll even improve the animation, so it’s a win for everyone. And the dub can catch up, so that’s a win for dub viewers too."

Although the announcement has caused a stir, fans remain eager for the return of One Piece in 2025, hopeful that the break will result in an even better continuation of the Straw Hats’ adventure.
