At the Oscars 2022 Will Smith hit Chris Rock on stage. The on-stage hitting took place after the comic cracked a joke about the actor’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith.
He was referring to Pinkett Smith’s shaved hairdo, Chris Rock said: “Jada, can’t wait for GI Jane 2.”
Sooner, Will Smith walking towards stage appeared to hit Chris Rock before returning to his seat and shouting: “Keep my wife’s name out of your… mouth.”
However, Will Smith later apologised while making his best actor Oscar acceptance speech.

“I want to apologise to the Academy. I want to apologise to my all my fellow nominees,” Smith said after winning the first Oscar of his career for playing the father of tennis legends Venus and Serena Williams in King Richard.
“Art imitates life. I look like the crazy father, just like they said about Richard Williams. But love will make you do crazy things.”
It is to be noted that Will Smith’s wife Pinkett Smith has spoken about having the hair loss condition alopecia earlier also.
Besides, Will Smith some of the other winners at the Oscars 2022 included Jessica Chastain for best actress for The Eyes of Tammy Faye. Jane Campion won best director for The Power of the Dog; and Apple TV film Coda, which was named best picture.
