Actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days. This comes in a case pertaining to his alleged involvement in the creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some apps.
But this comes as a minor setback for the Mumbai police which had been seeking Raj Kundra’s further custody.
Mr Kundra was arrested on July 19 by Mumbai police’s crime branch. He was booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Information Technology Act.
He was produced before the magistrate court at the end of his police remand on Tuesday. Kundra moved the court for bail and his plea was kept for hearing on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, anticipatory bails were granted to model-actors Poonam Pandey and Sherlyn Chopra.
Sherlyn Chopra was summoned to appear before the property cell on Tuesday in connection with the porn racket case involving Mr Kundra.
As per reports, Shilpa Shetty fought with her husband during a raid at their home by the crime branch. The actress apparently broke down in tears during the argument. She also told the cops that she was not in the know of her husband’s actions.
Moreover, model-actress Sagarika Shona Suman filed a police complaint stating that she has been receiving several abusive, threatening and vulgar calls on Facebook. This all has been allegedly happening ever since she complained against businessman Raj Kundra.
