Sagarika Shona Suman: ‘Raj Kundra asked me for nude audition on video call’

Business tycoon Raj Kundra has been arrested on gronds of being the key consipirator in the creation of pornographic films and uploading them online. The case was registered under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, Information Technology Act, and Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act at the Malwani police station on February 4, 2021.

Around the same time, actress Sagarika Shona Suman had addressed the media and demanded Raj Kundra’s arrest. Suman claimed that she was asked for a nude audition by Umesh Kamat (Raj Kundra’s assistant) and Raj Kundra himself on video call.

She said, “Raj Kundra ka naam bhi aaj aa chuka hai. Main bas yeh chahti hoon ki unhe jald se jald giraftar kiya jaaye because iss racket mein bahut saare logon ki life kharaab ho rahi hai (Raj Kundra’s name has come up. I want him to be arrested as this racket is destroying many lives).”

Sagarika Shona Suman went on, “My worst experience was when I was asked to give a nude audition on a video call. I refused to give the audition. There were many people on the call like Umesh Kamat, who is Raj Kundra’s assistant. One person’s face was not visible but I think he was Raj Kundra because Umesh Kamat was constantly saying that all the sites are run by Raj Kundra. I want to ask why is Raj Kundra not being arrested?”

Mumbai Police have asked Sagarika Shona Suman to come forward and record her statement but she has not done so yet. Officials have said they will record her statement if she agress to come forward on a later date.

Gehana Vasisth’s statement

On the other hand, actress Gehana Vasisth has issued a statement claiming Raj Kundra and herself are being made scapegoats in a conspiracy.

On Kundra’s arrest, Vasisth said, “The law will take its course. We have full faith in Mumbai police, but they should not mix up porn with erotica or bold content. We have always said that Mumbai police is the best force in the world. The courts will eventually decide during trial as to who are the real culprits and which of the arrested accused were merely used by others.”

Raj Kundra will be produced before court today, July 20 for allegedly producing and uploading pornographic videos online. Kundra has also been accused of misleading actresses into making pornographic content on the pretext of giving them a break in the film industry.
