International celebrities have started coming forward to enlighten people about the COVID-19 surge in India. These stars are also urging fans to donate towards the cause and help save lives in India.
This global support comes after Priyanka Chpora announced her fundraiser with ‘Give India’ to support the fight against COVID-19 in India. Priyanka and husband Nick Jonas took to Instagram to share a video where Priyanka was seen saying, “Over the past month we have seen the sudden rise and ravaging effects of Covid-19 as it has blazed in unrelenting parts across India.”
Nick added, “The magnitude is staggering. So much is needed right now to stop the spread of this dreaded disease.”
Camila Cabello and boyfriend Shawn Mendes have also decided to join hands with the same orginastion and shared the news with fans on social media.
Cabello wrote, “India is facing a devastating second wave of COVID infections and needs resources and support to help save lives.”
“If you can, please help @jayshetty and @radhidevlukia raise $1M for @give_india and their generous sponsor @indiaspora will match it! Every dollar will be doubled so we can try our best to make a difference,” she wrote.
Shawn Mendes also urged fans to donate, “If you have ever been touched by India’s culture or India’s people, just donate or share or anything you can do to help,” he shared on Instagram on Friday.
Actor Orlando Bloom also took to Instagram and asked his fans to support India. “It’s at times like this that we realise we need to be global citizens and help one another,” Orlando said.
There are many such international celebrities trying to raise funds like Ellen DeGeneres, Lana Condor, Jada Pinkett Smith, Lilly Singh and Richard Madden.
