A day after Bollywood actor Sonu Sood was appointed as the brand ambassador for the Delhi government’s mentorship programme for school students, his house was raided by the income tax department.
The IT department is reportedly only gathering information under a tax survey regarding the sources of income of the actor and where all Sonu spent this amount. During the ‘survey’, the officials cannot seize any document but simply collect information.
Since Sonu Sood’s philanthropy during COVID-19 was widely publicized, the IT department seeks to gather details about all the donations the actor received and how they were put to use.
During this process, Sonu Sood’s house and 6 other properties linked to him are being surveyed. No further information has been revealed to the public yet.
For the past few months, the rumours that Sonu Sood is joining politics with AAP have been rife too. The actor has met with Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on quite a few occasions but has not revealed any intentions of joining the party yet.
