Sony Music Introduces KJRGL: A Unique Blend of Korean and Japanese Talent

Sony Music Korea and Sony Music Japan have joined forces to launch an exciting new K-pop boy group named KJRGL. This 6-member group, featuring three Korean and three Japanese members, is set to debut in September with their album Overture ~ The Blue Wave.

What Does KJRGL Stand For?

KJRGL's name stands for "Kind (of) Just Right Good Luck," which reflects a positive and energetic vibe. Additionally, the name blends the Japanese word 'Kujira,' meaning 'whale,' with the Korean word 'Golae,' also meaning 'whale.' This unique name symbolizes the group's blend of cultures and their fresh approach to music.

Meet the Members

The group is made up of Akira, Kouki, Dien, Saeron, Riku, and Isaac. Several members have previously appeared on popular trainee competition shows:

  • Dien and Riku participated in Boys' Planet.
  • Akira was featured on Tora Project.
  • Kouki competed in Produce 101 Japan.

Release Schedule

KJRGL will drop their pre-debut single, Prologue ~ the Deepest Blue, on September 4. The official debut will follow on September 18, 2024, with their full album Overture ~ The Blue Wave.
