Stree 2 Box Office Update: Day 21 Sees Major Dip – Will It Surpass Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan?

Stree 2 Box Office

On its 21st day of release, Stree 2 saw a drop in box office collections, recording its lowest haul yet. The film, featuring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, earned approximately Rs 5.5 crore on its third Wednesday, according to Sacnilk. This drop was anticipated but highlights a significant decline compared to its earlier days.

Comparison with Box Office Rivals:

In a notable comparison, Stree 2 has finally matched the opening day collections of its box office rival, Khel Khel Mein, which starred Akshay Kumar. The latter had an opening day collection of Rs 5.05 crore. Despite this, Stree 2 has demonstrated resilience and remains a strong performer in the market.

Current Box Office Performance:

The film's net collections have reached Rs 520 crore, while the worldwide gross stands at over Rs 750 crore. If it maintains a similar pace, Stree 2 is poised to surpass Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, which had earned Rs 524.53 crore in Hindi. A collection of an additional Rs 5 crore in the near future could even enable Stree 2 to exceed Gadar 2's final tally of Rs 525.70 crore.

Upcoming Releases Impact:

The upcoming release of Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency, initially scheduled for September 6, was expected to impact Stree 2. However, its postponement means Stree 2 will have a clear run for another week. Additionally, the big Tamil release, GOAT starring Thalapathy Vijay, will not affect Stree 2 as it won’t have a wide release in Hindi.

Looking Ahead:

In its third week, Stree 2 is maintaining strong occupancy, especially during night shows, which have over 18 percent occupancy. The film is now targeting the lifetime collection record of Jawan (Hindi), which stands at Rs 584 crore. With the next big release, Devara: Part One, only arriving at the end of the month, Stree 2 is well-positioned to achieve its goal.
