The horror-comedy film Stree 2, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, is having a successful run at the Indian box office. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the movie grossed ₹9.25 crore on its second Wednesday, according to Sacnilk. The film's total domestic collection now stands at ₹424.05 crore. Globally, Stree 2 has already surpassed the ₹600 crore milestone.

Despite some expected decline in box office numbers, Stree 2 is set to have a strong start to its third weekend. The movie’s plot revolves around the return of the sinister Sarkata to Chanderi, where the people seek help from Stree once again. The film features cameos from stars like Akshay Kumar, Tamannaah, and Varun Dhawan.

Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared insights on X (formerly Twitter), noting that Stree 2 has shown remarkable consistency in its box office performance. Despite challenges like regular working days and heavy rainfall, the film has achieved double-digit figures from its opening day to the 13th day. Adarsh highlighted that Stree 2 is on track to become the first Hindi film of 2024 to cross ₹500 crore, cementing its status as an all-time blockbuster.

Competitive Landscape and Box Office Achievements

Stree 2 was released on August 15 and faced tough competition from Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham’s Vedaa. So far, Khel Khel Mein has earned ₹25.45 crore, while Vedaa has made ₹20.24 crore at the domestic box office.

Stree 2 is part of Dinesh Vijan’s expanding horror-comedy universe, which began with the 2018 hit Stree. This universe includes other successful films like Roohi, Munjya, and Bhediya. Munjya, released earlier this year, also achieved significant success, earning ₹107.48 crore at the box office.
