Tamannaah Bhatia Reveals Why South Films Are Winning Over Bollywood: Here’s What She Said!
Tamannaah Bhatia, riding high on the success of Stree 2, recently appeared on Raj Shamani's podcast, where she discussed her career and the differences between South Indian and Bollywood films. Tamannaah, who has worked extensively in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu films, shared her perspective on why South Indian films resonate so well with audiences globally.
Rooted Storytelling in South Films
During the interview, Tamannaah highlighted that South Indian films are more focused on telling 'rooted' stories. She explained, “South films often reflect their geographical locations, making them more relatable. They don’t cater to specific segments but focus on universal human emotions like family bonds and revenge. This authenticity has helped them connect with audiences, even globally.”
Why Bollywood Films Struggle
Tamannaah contrasted South films with Bollywood, noting that many Bollywood films are created with the aim of appealing to a broader audience. She said, “In Bollywood, films are sometimes made for ‘everybody’s consumption,’ which doesn’t always work. Authentic storytelling, like in Laapataa Ladies, receives much better reception because it connects on a deeper level.”
Tamannaah’s Upcoming Projects
Following her success in Stree 2 and Vedaa, Tamannaah is set to appear in Odela 2 (Telugu) and the Hindi web series Daring Partners. Her varied roles continue to showcase her versatility across different film industries.
Tamannaah’s insights reflect her deep understanding of the filmmaking process, and her belief in authentic storytelling continues to resonate in her choice of projects.
