Tamil Nadu Grants Five Daily Shows for Suriya’s Kanguva: Early 4 a.m. Shows in Neighboring States!

The much-awaited Tamil film Kanguva, starring Suriya and directed by Siva, is set to release globally on Thursday, November 14. Produced by Studio Green under KE Gnanavel Raja, Kanguva is expected to be one of the most expensive Tamil movies made to date. With just two days to go, the Tamil Nadu government has offered a boost to the film's release by permitting special shows across the state.
Special Show Permissions in Tamil Nadu
The Tamil Nadu government has relaxed its regulations, allowing Kanguva to host a special 9 a.m. show and a fifth late-night show ending at 2 a.m., making it possible for fans to enjoy five screenings per day. This added flexibility is especially exciting for Suriya’s fans, who are eagerly awaiting the film’s release. To ensure viewer safety, the government has requested theaters showing Kanguva to prioritize security and safety for patrons.
In addition to Tamil Nadu, the film will feature early morning shows starting at 4 a.m. in other states, including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Kerala. Early morning screenings have long been a tradition for Tamil cinema, though they were restricted by the Tamil Nadu government after a tragic incident during a festival release in 2023. This shift has sparked frustration among exhibitors and distributors within the state, as films continue to release earlier in neighboring states.
Despite the excitement, Kanguva faces challenges, including ongoing legal and financial issues. Reports indicate that the production team is handling certain financial obligations and aiming to resolve these matters before the release. Fans are hopeful that any remaining issues will be sorted out to allow for a smooth debut on Thursday.

Kanguva boasts an impressive lineup both in front of and behind the camera. Suriya leads a talented cast including Bollywood star Bobby Deol, Disha Patani, Yogi Babu, and Redin Kingsley. The film’s music is composed by National Award-winner Devi Sri Prasad, adding to the anticipation. The cinematography by Vetri Palanisamy and editing by the late Nishad Yusuf promise a visual spectacle.
Interestingly, Kanguva is planned as a two-part film, with speculation that actor Karthi may make a special appearance in the first installment. The anticipation surrounding this star-studded project is high, with fans eager to see what the collaboration between Suriya and director Siva will bring.
Fans Await a Landmark Release
Kanguva represents more than just a film release—it is a major event for Tamil cinema, uniting fans from across India. As excitement builds, fans are counting down the hours until they can see Suriya’s latest venture on the big screen.
