While some of the notable crime dramas such as Mind Hunter and Breaking Bad have gripped the globe in past few years, Bollywood has launched an extensive collection of web series in the same genre. For many decades, Indian dramas and movies have been running in two contrast directions. But, thanks to the wave of OTT platforms, Indian web series are now becoming hot talk of the town.

Mirzapur (Amazon Prime Video)

With the most awaited and recent release of its second season, Mirzapur has took the web space by the storm. Set amidst Mirzapur, Lucknow and Ghaziabad, the show depicts a perfect blend of guns, goons and governance (none as such). This crime-based thriller revolves around the lives of two brothers struggling to make a big name under a don’s shadow. The show stars Pankaj Tripathi, Vikrant Massey, Ali Fazal, Rasika Duggal, Divyendu Sharma along with a string of talented stares.

Sacred Games (Netflix)

Owning the title of first ever Indian Netflix series, Sacred Games has enjoyed a huge national as well as global fan-base since its release in 2018. The directors have presented a strong blend of mythological stories with modern elements, to deliver what we call a suspense thriller in true sense. The show stars Pankaj Tripathi, Radhika Apte, Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui along with some of the many talented Bollywood actors. This crisp thriller revolves around police office Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan) who rushes against the course of time to save Mumbai from an ominous danger as warned by Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui).

The Family Man (Amazon Prime Video)

This absolutely binge worthy web series displays the story of an intelligence officer who has two duties to serve- one where he is a middle-class family man and the other where he is a secret agent for National Intelligence Agency. Made by Raj and DK, starring Manoj Bajpayee, this series has gripping storyline that will keep you hooked till the end. The effortless performance of Manoj Bajpayee gives a deeper insight into the life of a family man on a mission.

Delhi Crime (Netflix)

Belonging to the category of limited series, this is a real-life crime series based on Delhi gang rape case happened in December 2016. Starring Shefali Shah in the role of DCP Vartika, Delhi Crimes portrays the aftermath of horrifying Nirbhaya Case. Shefali Shah has ruled the series with her brilliant performance and her meticulous search for the culprits. The series stars Rasika Duggal, Rajesh Tailang, Adil Hussain among a great set of performing artists. The series unfolds many hidden stories behind that gruesome night of 16th December 2016.

Paatal Lok (Amazon Prime Video)

To delve deeper into the not-so-glittery world of media houses, this binge-worthy Indian web series will be the perfect pick for this weekend. Displaying Jaideep Ahlawat at his absolute brilliance as an underestimated cop and struggling family man, Hathi Ram Chaudhary. This intelligent, fast-paced, engaging and thrilling web series stars Neeraj Kabi, Swastika Mukherjee, Gul Panag and Ishwak Singh with some of the many other talented artists.
