1. Chhapaak
Starring Deepika Padukone and directed by Meghna Gulzar, this movie hit the theatres in the very month of this year. The movie talked about the strong, fierce and inspirational story of acid attack survivor, Laxmi Aggarwal. Inspired by a real-life story, the film takes a deed dive into the life of a woman, her struggles and her triumph for the ban of sale of acid. 2. Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl
Yet another biopic of the first Indian Air Force pilot, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl is directed by Sharan Sharma. Starring Jahnvi Kapoor in the lead role, the movie is based on the inspirational life of Gunjan Saxena and how she made her way through the male-dominated Indian Air Force. The film witnessed Pankaj Tripathi as the father of Gunjan Saxena.

3. Thappad
Known for her classic and befitting replies to keyboard trolls, Tapsee Pannu presented a refreshing, bold and revolutionary performance in this movie. Directed and produced by Anubhav Sinha, the movie made a theatrical release on International Women’s Day. The film talks about gender difference that prevails in every part of the society and how a middle-class woman fights to end it. With her exceptional performance and acting skills, Tapsee has perfectly played the lead role of a bold woman.
4. Panga
Directed by Ashwiny yer Tiwari, this sports drama features Kangana Ranaut in the lead role. Known for her brilliant performance and fierce action-spirit, Kangana presented the promised entertainment to her fans. The film talks about the life of a former Kabaddi player who struggles to make a comeback in the game while managing her home. This movie can be summed up as the story of many sportswomen who often end up finding a perfect balance between their personal life and passion.
5. Shakuntala Devi
Based on the life-story of Human-Computer, Shakuntala Devi, the movie featured Vidya Balan in the lead role and released in May 2020. The film also featured Sanya Malhotra as one of the key characters. Directed by Anu Menon, the movie talks about the life of a woman who enjoyed calculations and enjoyed playing with math.
