CHENNAI, India — September 24, 2024 — Actress Trisha Krishnan has successfully reached a settlement with her neighbors regarding a dispute over potential structural damage to her property. The Madras High Court has ordered a refund of the court fees she paid when filing a civil suit earlier this year.

Compromise Reached: Justice RMT Teekaa Raman of the Madras High Court disposed of the matter after reviewing a joint compromise memo signed by Trisha, her neighbors, Mr. Meyappan and Ms. Kaveri, and their legal representatives.

Initial Dispute: Trisha filed the civil suit in January 2024, seeking a permanent injunction to prevent her neighbors from continuing demolition or construction on the eastern wall of their property, which she argued could impact the structural integrity of her own home.

Common Wall Concerns: The court recognized the significance of a common wall between the two properties, noting that both buildings were originally constructed by previous owners. Trisha purchased her property in 2005, while her neighbors acquired theirs in 2023 and initiated redevelopment.

Judicial Observations: Justice N. Sathish Kumar, who initially reviewed Trisha’s interim injunction application, highlighted the risks associated with potential damage to the common wall, which was crucial for both homes’ stability and infrastructure.

Settlement Process: Following various court appearances, efforts for an amicable resolution were initiated on March 21, 2024, involving Trisha's mother and her neighbors. Ultimately, these discussions led to a satisfactory settlement for both parties, concluding the legal dispute.
