Vikram Vedha, a neo-noir action film will be released in theatres this Friday. It stars Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles. The crime thriller has garnered marvelous reviews from all corners.
From cast to high-octane action and the statements that it is a remake of a Tamil cult movie from 2017.
But now the Vikram Vedha directors Pushkar and Gayathri also cleared the air on its remake.
In a media interaction, the directors spoke about the comparisons and how they ensured they were making something fresh.
Vikram Vedha in Tamil had R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles. Interestingly, the film takes inspiration from the very famous folk tale Vikram-Betaal.
Vikram Vedha Critics Say
A lot of talk and debate has already taken place about how different or similar it is from the Tamil one.
Speaking about why the directors chose to return to directing the same story, Pushkar said, “Take a play like Streetcar Named Desire or Death of a Salesman. It has been staged hundreds of times all over the world. The text remains the same. But you bring in a fresh set of actors when a production changes. We approached the idea of doing Vikram Vedha the same way. The text is the same, as what we had written long back. When Saif and Hrithik come on board, they are bringing what an actor and the written word together form into a character on screen.”
Moreover, the viewers can see that it is a different perspective in Hindi Vikram Vedha.
Hrithik Roshan plays the gangster role Vedha in the film. Vikram Vedha also stars Radhika Apte, Yogita Bihani, and Rohit Saraf. Furthermore, you can watch it in theatres this Friday on September 30 and decide your say accordingly.
