Rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh, once at the pinnacle of his career, faced a challenging downfall starting in 2012. After his hit song "Desi Kalakaar," he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and struggled with substance abuse. In a candid interview with The Lallantop, Honey Singh shared insights into this difficult period and the Bollywood celebrities who supported him.

Bollywood Stars Who Supported Honey Singh

When asked about the support he received during his health crisis, Honey Singh mentioned that three major Bollywood stars reached out to him. Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Akshay Kumar were among those who showed concern. He revealed, “Akshay paaji used to call and follow up on me, Deepika suggested a doctor, and Shah Rukh regularly checked in on my health. I couldn’t speak much, but they would enquire through my family. They supported me a lot.”

Honey Singh’s Reflection on Personal Life and Struggles

In the same interview, Honey Singh clarified that he had never been to rehab for substance abuse. However, he admitted that he had neglected his family, including his ex-wife Shalini Talwar, due to his obsession with wealth, fame, addiction, and women. Reflecting on this, he said, “Our relationship wasn’t good at that time. Success and fame got to my head, and I neglected my family. I did terrible things, almost left Shalini, and forgot about them.” The couple is now divorced.

Honey Singh’s Comeback in 2023

After taking a break from his career, Honey Singh made a strong comeback in 2023 with the song "Kalaastar," a sequel to "Desi Kalakaar" featuring Sonakshi Sinha. He also released an album titled Glory and is currently busy promoting it. Additionally, a documentary about his life will soon be released on Netflix India.
