India witnessing downward trend in Covid-19 cases, lowest infections in last 24 hours

Currently India is witnessing a downward trend in Covid-19 cases. India on Saturday reported its lowest infections in 70 days. The country added 84,332 new cases that takes its overall caseload to 2.93 crore. Active cases account for 3.68 per cent of the total infections.

Active Covid-19 cases in India have decreased by 40,981 in the last 24 hours. The national COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to 95.07 per cent, as per the government.

However, India continues to report high number of Covid-related deaths with 4,002 fatalities being reported in the last 24 hours.

Delhi on Friday reported 238 new Covid-19 cases and 504 recoveries. Delhi also recorded 24 deaths, this is the lowest since April 8.

The government now says that there is no need to panic when it comes to vaccination drive. It cleared the air on gaps between the two vaccination doses.

Maharashtra remains the worst-hit state by COvid-19 reported 11,766 cases. This takes its overall tally to 58.87 lakh.

Tamil Nadu contributed 15,759 cases to the India’s daily Covid-19 tally. It was followed by Kerala (14,233 cases) and Karnataka (8,249 cases).
