A NEET aspirant was held hostage for over 6 months and repeatedly raped by her teachers in Kanpur. She was 17 when the ordeal took place.Sexual assault cases are constant in revelations. In such a context, has emerged the most shocking case of UP wherein a 17-year-old NEET aspirant was allegedly being held hostage for over six months at one of the prestigious coaching institutes and raped by two of her teachers on numerous occasions. "The student's terror began in December 2022 after she stayed at a hostel in the city for coaching exams," a police officer said in Uttar Pradesh.

Narrating the nightmarish ordeal, the young woman revealed that on December 2022, one of the accused Sahil Siddiqui invited her to his friend's flat at Kalyanpur's Makdi-Khera for a New Year's party, saying other students would also be present. But when she reached the flat, she found only Siddiqui who allegedly drugged her by lacing her soft drink with sedatives, raped her and filmed the act.

Blackmailed, held hostage, raped
The victim alleged that Siddiqui blackmailed her by threatening to upload the video on the internet and kept her captive in his flat for more than six months during which he repeatedly raped her. Three months later, another teacher, Vikas Porwal also raped her.

They have threatened to circulate on the internet the video in which they raped her, she said, adding that she could not muster courage to go to the police with a complaint, fearing that it may land her family members into trouble.

However, six months down the line, the girl's mother reached the Kanpur and took the girl away with herself, and despite being unwilling to initially approach the police, she finally approached the cops for help after she came across the video of Siddiqui sexually harassing some other student.

Accused Arrested
A senior police official said both the accused teachers — Sahil Siddiqui, who taught biology, and Vikas Porwal, a chemistry teacher–have been arrested and charged with offences of rape, wrongful confinement, criminal intimidation, and under provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) Act.

A case was filed against the accused under Indian Penal Code sections 328 (causing hurt by means of poison, etc., with intent to commit an offence), 376(2)(n) (commits rape repeatedly on the same woman), 344 (wrongful confinement for 10 or more days) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and the POCSO Act, said Assistant Commissioner of Police (Kalyanpur) Abhishek Pandey.
