19-Year-Old Murdered with Broken Bottle During Winter Carnival in Manali

A tragic incident unfolded in Manali, Himachal Pradesh, during the Winter Carnival when a 19-year-old boy, identified as Daksh, was allegedly murdered with a broken bottle. The incident took place on Wednesday night at Manu Rangshala, behind the stage, where hundreds of people were enjoying the cultural evening.
The Attack and Arrest
According to the police, the accused attacked Daksh with a broken glass bottle on the neck following a dispute. The exact motive for the attack is still unclear, and the post-mortem report is awaited to provide more details. However, the accused was arrested early Thursday morning and is currently in police custody.
Daksh was a resident of Vashisht, near Manali. His uncle, Shyam Lal, expressed deep anger over the incident, stating that if the police had not arrested the accused by Thursday, they would place Daksh’s body at Manali Chowk and the locals would protest on the streets. The situation created significant tension in the area.
Cultural Program Postponed
The tragic incident has impacted the festive mood, and as a result, the Maha Nati performance by the women of Manali’s Right Bank scheduled for Thursday was postponed to Friday.
